The NBLE features biographical, critical, and bibliographic information about more than 240 New Brunswick writers and literary subjects. It also includes comprehensive timelines of books published in the province, as well as resources for further study and teaching, links to regional studies centers, and a host of research tools for students, teachers, and scholars interested in New Brunswick literature. The authors studied in this curriculum are hyperlinked to their corresponding NBLE entry.

These are the provincial departments responsible for the delivery and oversight of formal education programming in New Brunswick. Each has responsibility for English or French language arts.

This is the high school section of the curriculum guide found in the Foundation for the Atlantic Canada English Language Arts Curriculum. It is one of the guides that we consulted in designing the New Brunswick Literature Curriculum in English. Designed collaboratively to bring coherence to the teaching and learning of English Language Arts across the four Atlantic provinces, it is the model for English language and literacy instruction in New Brunswick’s public schools.

Archives and Special Collections is a repository of the private papers, letters, and literary documents of many of the province’s leading English-language writers. Housed in UNB Fredericton’s main library, the Archives has the most extensive holding of New Brunswick literary papers in the world.
Literary researchers are also directed to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick (Fredericton), The New Brunswick Museum (Saint John), and the Centre d’etudes acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson (Moncton). Each has important holdings of New Brunswick literary materials.

JNBS/RÉNB is a multi-disciplinary journal that features original research about New Brunswick in English and French. The only bilingual journal of ideas in the province, it engages a wide readership in ongoing conversations about New Brunswick.

Covering the Atlantic region, the focus of Acadiensis is wider than that of JNBS/RÉNB, and its area is almost solely historical, but many of its articles treat New Brunswick subjects.

This organization provides resources, support, and reading forums to writers in New Brunswick.
